Challenger Signs Corporate Training Agreement with Tucson Medical Group

Memphis, TN 11/30/07 - Memphis-based medical training and education firm, Challenger Corporation, announced today the signing of a corporate training and testing agreement with Emergency Medicine Associates (EMA) of Tucson, Arizona. Under the agreement, physicians who practice with EMA are enrolled in a permanent subscription to the nationally recognized Challenger library courses for maintenance of certification, competency evaluation and CME fulfillment. According to Challenger CEO, Bob Sweeney, this arrangement is the second of its kind nationally and represents the ongoing expansion of the Challenger service line from retail physician education into institutional and corporate relationships.

According to Sweeney, "EMA is a prestigious emergency medicine organization in the Tucson area, with a reputation for bringing a high standard of care and customer satisfaction to the performance capabilities of its clinical team. The Challenger library provides EMA with a powerful physician recruiting and retention tool. Fifty percent of the emergency physicians in the United States use Challenger programs for training and test preparation. This agreement reinforces our close engagement with the emergency medicine community nationally."

EMA was formed 36 years ago to bring formal emergency medical practice to the Tucson metropolitan area. Over forty professional physicians and physician assistants practice with the group. The organization serves the emergency departments at two major area hospitals, St. Mary's and St. Joseph's, in the Carondelet Health Network.

Challenger owns the world's largest collection of approved electronic CME media, comprising over 3,800 approved hours of credit. Thousands of American physicians and other clinicians rely upon Challenger materials to prepare for specialty board exams, recertification, maintenance of certification, and lifelong learning. Challenger serves the educational and training needs of over 400,000 practicing American primary care and hospital-based physicians and nearly 70,000 physician assistants. Challenger products are approved for physician CME credit through joint sponsorships with eight medical schools and specialty societies. They are also used for institutional training in over seventy major residency and physician assistant training programs across the United States.
