Memphis, Tennessee, January 27, 2004 - Memphis-based medical education software firm, Challenger Corporation, today announced an introduction of a line of new products in Primary and Emergency Care Psychiatry - Neuro-Challenger, Essential Neurology for Primary and Emergency Care; Challenger Psychiatry/CC, An Adult Core Curriculum Course in Psychiatry for Primary Care Physicians; and Challenger Pediatric Psychiatry, A Complete Course in Pediatric Psychiatry Featuring ADHD. The new courses are both CD-ROM and Internet-delivered curricula.
Neuro-Challenger, sponsored by The University of Arizona College of Medicine at the Arizona Health Sciences Center, provides 15 physician CME credit hours of training on signs/symptoms and treatment of a full range of neurological diseases. Specific chapters focus on medical, infectious, and genetic disease processes with neurological consequences.
Challenger Psychiatry/CC, jointly sponsored by Boston University School of Medicine for 6 physician credit hours, addresses four major areas of diagnosis and treatment in primary care psychiatry:
How to use antidepressants in primary care practice
How to manage anxiety in primary care practice
Management of behavioral problems that accompany dementia in the elderly
Patient communication strategies.
Challenger Pediatric Psychiatry presents a comprehensive review of child psychiatric topics and contains a special module on attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). The program is jointly sponsored by the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center for 20 hours of credit. The American Academy of Pediatrics also offers 20 specialized PREP hours for this series.
"These new programs are great additions to our current portfolio of continuing education courses directed primarily at Primary Care and Emergency Medicine physicians" observed Laura Goodman-Bryan, Challenger's Chief Operating Officer. "These courses deepen and expand our potential markets for 385,000 practicing US-based physicians as well as over 1,000,000 practitioners in Latin America, where our materials are translated and distributed."
The new psychiatry series will be sold independently, as well as part of the Challenger Lifetime Subscription, the company's flagship product offering and fastest growing revenue line. Additional information is available at www.chall.com.
