Challenger Director Promoted as Residency Offering Expands

Memphis, TN 03/15/07 - Memphis-based education and training firm, Challenger Corporation, announced that Becca Metzger, Director of Business Development, was appointed Assistant Vice President of the firm as of January 1, 2007. The promotion reflects her success in developing and expanding the Challenger Program for Residencies™ and related functions.

Metzger started with Challenger Corporation in 1998. She became the firm's leading salesperson, and was responsible for training other sales personnel and representing Challenger at hundreds of conferences nationally. In 2004, as Senior Manager for Business Development, she began to build Challenger's institutional product line and client base. The Challenger Program for Residencies™ and its sister product, the Challenger Program for PA Training™, now serve nearly 75 prestigious institutional clients across the United States. These platforms offer a unique combination of a vast training content library and a robust yet easily used reporting and performance evaluation system.

Promoted to Director of Business Development in 2006, Metzger is responsible for pursuing, negotiating, and maintaining joint ventures and partnerships; development, marketing, and sales of institutional services to hospitals, universities, large medical groups, industry and government bodies; and liaisons with foreign organizations and partners. Among her clients and partners are the Canadian Defense Forces; Emergency Medicine Physicians of Canton, Ohio; and Oakstone Medical Publishing of Birmingham, Alabama. Metzger graduated with a BA from Rhodes College in 2004.

According to Bob Sweeney, Challenger Chief Executive Officer, "Becca deserves the recognition entailed in her recent promotion. She has led the way for Challenger to become the leading provider of institutional training and performance evaluation in the medical industries."

Challenger owns the world's largest collection of approved electronic CME media, comprising over 3,800 approved hours of credit. Thousands of physicians and other clinicians rely upon Challenger materials to prepare for specialty board exams, recertification, maintenance of certification, and lifelong learning. Challenger serves the educational and training needs of over 400,000 practicing American primary care and hospital-based physicians and nearly 70,000 physician assistants. Challenger products are approved for physician CME credit through joint sponsorships with eight medical schools and specialty societies. They are also used for institutional training in seventy-five major residency and physician assistant training programs across the United States.
