Remediation: Posterior urethral
valves are the most common cause of bilateral hydronephrosis in
boys. Reflux of urine is more common in children and usually
spontaneously resolves as the child matures. In adults, urinary
tract obstruction is usually due to acquired defects such as
calculi, tumors, trauma, or strictures.

Distended Urinary Bladder
This patient complained of no bowel movement for two
days and abdominal distention. The huge mass in the pelvis is a
distended urinary bladder. Note the increased radiodensity in
the pelvis and lower abdomen due to the mass, and displacement
of bowel out of the region occupied by the mass.
