A 61-year-old man presents to your institution with a petechial rash (see illustration to right), hypotension, and rectal bleeding. His platelet count is 12,000/mm2.
Treatment of this patient could include all of the following EXCEPT:
- Platelet transfusions

- IVIG 1 gm/kg
- Methylprednisolone 1 gm IV
