Question:

A newborn infant is seen shortly after birth because of bilious vomiting. The infant does not have abdominal distention. A plain radiograph of the abdomen shows the following picture. (see illustration at right)

What is the most likely diagnosis?

  3. pyloric stenosis
  4. imperforate anus
