Memphis, TN 12/01/10 - Challenger Corporation, the nation’s foremost clinical training and testing company, announced today the release of a one-of-a-kind educational platform linked to the highest end Apple iPad. The new product, CLS Enhanced, inserts the 64 3G Wi-Fi enhanced version of the iPad into the Challenger Lifetime Subscription (CLS), a peer reviewed career education and test preparation program purchased by practicing primary and acute care physicians.
The company ran a test marketing campaign in October, which led to the highest year over year retail sales revenues for that month on record. The offer is now being made for year holiday sales and allocations of continuing medical education (CME) budgets for 2010. CLS Enhanced tier Challenger customers can now fulfill all their education and maintenance of certification (MOC) requirements via a powerful interactive portable technology, the iPad.
According to Challenger CEO, Bob Sweeney, “Our research and market experience tells us that physicians want to address their competency assessment and maintenance hurdles in an efficient and portable fashion. CLS Enhanced provides a career investment opportunity that is both affordable and convenient. The physician customer acquires immediate access to thousands of cases studies, image banks, scans, and Question and Answer banks covering his or her specialty from stem to stern. They can even cross train on competencies required across more than one medical field, while earning university and specialty-society based CME credits. This is our first venture into aligning our brand with best-of-breed technology brands. We’ll be looking at other technology environments in addition to the Apple lineup to determine potential strategic allies in technology-enhanced education.
Challenger owns the world’s largest collection of approved electronic CME media, comprising over 3,800 peer-reviewed hours of credit. Thousands of American physicians and other clinicians rely upon Challenger materials to prepare for specialty board exams, recertification, maintenance of certification, and lifelong learning. Challenger serves the educational and training needs of over 400,000 practicing American primary care and hospital-based physicians and nearly 70,000 physician assistants. Challenger products are approved for physician CME credit through joint sponsorships with the University of Colorado School of Medicine and three specialty societies. The company also provides testing and evaluation services to 200 residencies and similar training programs, as well as six corporate medical groups.
